About this site
This site was created to help Russ & Pat reach a wider audience and let people know that what they are doing isn't just all bar talk. Like many people in the UK, both Russ & Pat have had to cope with the cruel effects cancer has on a family. The pair had been thinking about doing something for charity for a long time. However, with the tragic loss of Russ's wife, Alison, who died as a result of diabetes in 2008, they both realised that life is too short and that although it can be too late to help some people, it is never too late to help other people. Russ & Pat are determined to make a difference. One night while sat in at Russ’s watching Bear Grylls power paragliding round Everest we decided Everest Base Camp was to be our goal.

Check back for more updates from Russ and Pat's trek up Everest, and please keep on giving as every penny counts. Remember that Russ and Pat are paying all their own expenses on the trip so every penny really does go to the causes that matter!
